Our popular senior school has its own mini campus within the school grounds and our objective is to help produce well rounded and well qualified young men and women ready to progress to their first choice venue for further education.  Whilst still offering the full all round Ballard experience, the pace and intensity of academic rigour moves up a gear in this part of the school.   An attractive range of GCSE subjects is offered and the school has an enviable results record as the leading non-selective independent school in the area.

Purposeful teaching supported by sensible discipline and pastoral care provides the supportive foundation to enable students to thrive.
The Ballard all round experience is also maintained with extensive opportunities in sport, performing and visual arts, D of E bronze and silver, foreign exchanges and trips, Young Enterprise and a wealth of activities.

Monitoring and reporting is rigorous and parents are kept in touch with homework and curriculum via parent evenings and the school Virtual Learning Environment.   Regular progress reviews and tutoring ensures that any academic or other issues are identified and dealt with promptly.  Small class sizes and individual attention remain at the cornerstone of the Ballard experience with the culmination of the GCSE exams  in Year 11.

Challenge Week, held  at the end of year 9 is a fantastic opportunity to learn and practice leadership skills, experience adventure, life skills and various career opportunities.
