Former Ballard School pupil and Head Boy, Matthew Aldridge (2012), returned to Ballard to talk about his Olympic success.
Matt is extremely proud to have won the bronze medal with Oli Wilkes, David Ambler and Freddie Davidson in the Men’s four at the 2024 Olympic Rowing Regatta in Paris.
Speaking at a whole school assembly, Matt talked to pupils about the importance of resilience; to just keep going, even if things go wrong; to never give up.
‘Follow your passion’ was another strong piece of advice from our much loved alumnus.
Pupils were able to ask lots of questions as well as getting the opportunity to inspect (and wear!) his Olympic medal.
